Preparing Your System for Online PHOENIX
Documentation
All the online volumes are included on the
PHOENIX distribution tape and installed on program file 199. For
information about installation, see either the PHOENIX OS Installation
Guide or the PHOENIX VM/PVI guide.
The following table describes the volumes available
for the PHOENIX system:

Creating the Group Volume
The distribution tape supplies the aur group
volume that contains the list of accessible PHOENIX online volumes
and the master index for the four volumes of the PHOENIX Author
Reference Guide. To allow readers access to the Volume List Screen,
you must identify the aur group to your system by following the
steps below:
- Sign on to PHOENIX as a supervisor.
- At the type command line, type a $gswr0 and
press ENTER.
- At the type command line, type group and
press ENTER.
- The groups defined screen is displayed. Note:
The groups defined screen should be blank. If aur is listed,
it has already been defined. If aur is already defined, then
press F3 to exit this procedure.
- At the arrow prompt, type new and press ENTER.
- You will be prompted for the name of the
group volume. At the arrow prompt, type aur and press ENTER.
- The volumes available screen is displayed.
In the volume column, type the following volume names and press
ENTER: auref1, auref2, auref3, auref4 and askme1
Providing Access to the Group Volume
To enable readers to access the aur group volume
via an F key from the sign-on screen, follow the steps below.
- Sign on to PHOENIX as a supervisor.
- At the type command line, type signon and
press ENTER.
- The sign-on frame editor screen is displayed.
Press F2 to Edit PF keys/field names
- Opposite the F key number you want readers
to use, type aur and three blank spaces in both the course and
label columns. Press ENTER.
- The sign-on frame editor screen is redisplayed.
Press F1 to edit the logo
- The current sign-on logo is displayed in
view mode. Press F5 to edit the current logo.
- Type in your changes to the sign-on logo.
List the F key that you want readers to use to access the aur
group volume. Example: F1 - PHOENIX Author Volumes
- When you finish editing the sign-on logo,
press F3.
