PHOENIX and PREFERENCE 7.9.0 Software Compatibility with the
CICS Transaction Server
July 28, 2008 Dear Customer,
Below is information on software compatibility
for the PHOENIX and PREFERENCE release 7.9.0 system with the
CICS Transaction Server.
There are no known compatibility issues with
CICS Transaction Server releases prior to 3.1. If you are upgrading
to CICS TS 3.1, there is a required ZAP for PREFERENCE. The tables
below identify this change. In addition program definition changes
are required. The following tables identify these changes:

Note(*) Support is limited to CICS
transactions using a COMMAREA. Starting with CICS TS 3.1 the
COMMAREA 32KB limit was replaces with new Containers and
Channels Feature. CICS Transactions that have been updated to
use the new Containers and Channels Feature are not yet
supported by PHOENIX and PREFERENCE.
