s760001
PHO/PREF

If VTAM drops a group of LUs that are connected to PHOENIX/PREFERENCE, then the CBETAM task may abend with an S0C1. Another symptom of this timing problem is "GC102 WRONG LDA ROLLED IN" error message(s) for a line number associated with a PHOENIX/PREFERENCE dynamic session (Ring session or internal Reader Help session).

s760002
PHO/PREF

  1. GSPBROS abends with an S0C4 when specifying PROG=ALL.
  2. Prevent authors and instructors from being loaded into the roster files.
  3. GSPBROS abends with an S0C4 or S0C1 when PROG=ALL is specified and no programs exist on the program files.
  4. GSPBROS abends with an S0C4 when processing user records that do not have a name specified.

s760003
PHO/PREF
To test PHOENIX and PREFERENCE release 7.6.0 for Year 2000 compliance, a product code would be required for the Year 2000 or beyond. With this PTF applied Pathlore can provide the client with a product code that will allow the client to test PHOENIX/PREFERENCE on a system where the TOD clock is set to a date within the following date ranges:

Dec. 24/25 through Jan. 5 of the years 1999 through 2020
Feb. 25 through Mar. 5/6 of the years 2000 through 2020

If the system TOD clock is set to a date outside the date ranges specified above, then the system will behave as though the product code has expired. If the Year 2000 testing product code is installed without applying the following PTF, the system will again behave as though the product code has expired.

s760004
PHO/PREF
GSPBROS abends with an S0C1 when attempting to allocate a new roster file and there is insufficient program space to allocate the roster file.

s760005
PHO/PREF
GSPBROS abends with an S0C4 when processing a course or volume which does not have any students or readers registered; however, there are only authors or writers registered to the course or volume.

s760006
PHO/PREF
The year field of the current date is stored as a binary integer. This field was to include a century adjustment value. This PTF makes this adjustment to the current year field. This change is required so that a client using "flat file output" (such as our "LOG FILE") to create his/her own reports can convert these year fields to a 4-digit year field. This can be accomplished by adding the value "1900" to the year field.

s760007
PHO/PREF
A user may receive the following message:
"GC509 GOALSYS - OLD VERSION OF CBHIMS BEING USED. SIGN-ON REJECTED". IMS users may receive the GC509 message when they request PREFERENCE Help on some of the fields on their application screen while other fields on the same screen will be processed fine.
If the Pathlore-supplied module "CBRIDA" (Physical Terminal Input Exit Routine) is being used to perform a message switch from your Non-Conversational IMS application to CBHIMS, then the following steps must be performed before applying this PTF:

  1. A copy of CBHIMS must be made to a different name.
  2. This PTF must NOT be applied to the new named CBHIMS.
  3. "CBRIDA" must be changed to refer to the new name for CBHIMS.
  4. The "ZAPIMS" SAMPLIB member must be used to change the transaction name for the new named CBHIMS.

s760009
PHO/PREF
The
GSPBATCH utility abends with an S0C4 while parsing control cards. This condition is caused by the presence of the AMODE=31 parameter. Application of this PTF or removing the AMODE=31 parameter will eliminate the error condition.

s760010
PHO/PREF
PHOENIX/PREFERENCE may abend with a U0101 due to a timing problem. Another symptom of this timing problem is the "Shutdown Process" may hang. It then requires an operator cancel to bring the system down.

s760011
PHO/PREF
GSPBROS does not update the course controls file when new classes are created. This results in the Administer Course menu not indicating a class exists for a class that was created by GSPBROS.

s760013

PHO/PREF
PHOENIX/PREFERENCE may abend with a User 0000 due to a timing problem when PTF S760010 is applied and ring sessions are used.

s760014
PHO/PREF
If a PREFERENCE PSF Print request encounters an
"OUTPUT LIMIT EXCEEDED" error condition, then a DIAGNOSTIC Dump will be produced. This may be identified by a GC136 message for program CBESR184.

s760015
PHO/PREF
If the client attempts to bring the system up with a system date after Dec 31, 1999, the product code is flagged as invalid even though a special Year 2000 EXPID is being used.

s760016
PHO/PREF
If the GSPREPT1 utility is run with year 2000 GSPLOG input data and DATE= does not specify an "end-date", then all data with a date greater than 12/31/1999 will be skipped because it is outside the default date range.

s760019
PHO/PREF
Due to a timing problem the CBETAM task may abend with an S0C1 during the "Shutdown Process". The error occurs while attempting to signoff a "Ring session".

s760023
PHO/PREF
TCP/IP stalls when a VTAM connection to PHOENIX/PREFERENCE enters a pending state. The VTAM session is attempting to connect to the application (OPNDST) when VTAM sends a LOSTERM notification. PHOENIX/PREFERENCE ignored the LOSTERM because the session is in OPNDST process. It was expected that OPNDST would fail and the session would be CLSDSTed ending the pending state. VTAM notified the application that OPNDST was successful. This caused the application to follow the wrong path leaving the terminal session in a pending state.

Currently the communication between VTAM and TCP/IP is synchronous. When the terminal session entered the pending state, TCP/IP stalled because it was waiting for the terminal to complete the connect/disconnect process.

With this change PHOENIX/PREFERENCE will process the LOSTERM rather than relying on VTAM to present a failed OPNDST.

s760025
PHO/PREF
When a user attempts to perform a screen capture or request PREFERENCE help, they erroneously receive a
"GC716 - GOALSYS - MULTIPLE CPU LICENSE REQUIRED." error message.

s760026
PHO/PREF
If the user specifies the GSPITEM control card parameter "REPort=ALL", then due to a problem with assigning work files GSPITEM may ABEND with an S0C6.

S760027
PHO/PREF
Clients using the IDMS interface with IDMS release 14.
The user's terminal-id is being picked up from the wrong location so it will appear to be a "garbage value".

S760028
PHO/PREF
Clients using the CICS Interface.
When the PRDC transaction is initiated to disable the PHOENIX/PREFERENCE Global XZCIN Exit Routine, there may be pending help/screen captures requests. When this is the case, the Global Exit remains Enabled and the following information message is presented:

GC614 GOALSYS - nnn help transactions in flight after...

If the user wishes to force the Global XZCIN Exit to be Disabled, the "OPT=FORCE" option may be used with this PRDC transaction. This PTF is required to allow the PRDC transaction to recognize this option.

S760029
PHO/PREF
If the GSPRSEL or GSPPRINT utilities are run with year 2000 data and DATE= does not specify an "end-date", then all data with a date greater than 12/31/1999 will be skipped because it is outside the default date range.

S760030
PHO/PREF
Clients using the CICS Interface.
The PRDP transaction may abend with an S0C4 if it receives a Common Area that belongs to the PRDB transaction.

S760031
PHO/PREF
Clients using the CICS Interface.
The PRDP transaction may encounter "AEIV" errors when the PREFERENCE Help interface is not available.

S760032
PREFERENCE
GOALSYS may abend with an S0C4 in CBEDEBUG while producing a DIAGNOSTIC Dump due to this problem.

S760033
PREFERENCE
Clients using the DB2 External Data Access Feature
The Preference Operating Parameter "DBIISSID=" requires the DB2 subsystem-id to be 4 positions. With this change the DB2 subsystem-id can be less than 4 positions.

S760035
PHO/PREF
Clients using the AMODE=31 Feature
If the client has their system configured to have more than 999 concurrent users, then the "LINE STATISTICS" report produced when the system is shutdown will only display the three low-order significant digits of the line number.

Z760001
PHOENIX
Form-simulation processing may judge F-key incorrectly by interpreting F-key as Enter (except in debug mode where keystroke analysis is correct). This PTF corrects simulation answer judging for F-keys.

Z760002
PHOENIX
Form-simulation author debug displays student input one space to the left of group answer analysis. This misalignment makes visual comparison difficult for debug purposes. This PTF results in group answer analysis and student input formatted to begin in the same column, as in previous releases.

Z760003
PHOENIX
Author administer course screen displays '0' beneath class numbers in the
CLASSES ALLOCATED area. The correct format for CLASSES ALLOCATED consists of either a vertical bar or a space beneath class numbers. This PTF restores correct formatting.

Z760004
PHOENIX
Classes which have been deleted from Administer Course screen persist in being displayed as allocated. This PTF correctly updates file used to store classes allocated information.

Z760005
PREFERENCE
This PTF allows concurrent help reader to pick from non-popup screen.

Z760006
PREFERENCE
Cursor is not returned to its original position upon exit from a successful help request. Instead the cursor is returned to the start of the field regardless of where in the field it was located when help was invoked. This PTF returns the cursor to its proper placement.

Z760007
PHOENIX/PREFERENCE
Users entering 'find' at the main author and writer menu are not presented with the find (text search) menu. This PTF restores correct menu presentation for 'find' functionality.

Z760008
PREFERENCE
PREFERENCE readers choosing the Tutorial option from the hypertext
PA2 menu do not access the writer defined tutorial. Instead the reader is returned to the reference item display. This occurs when no hypertext PA2 links are defined for the item. This PTF enables hypertext PA2 tutorial functionality when no other links are defined.

Z760009
PREFERENCE
PREFERENCE prints blank pages or partially blank pages when the revision date is chosen as left and/or right footer. This PTF corrects footer processing by restoring the correct length of the revision date display.

Z760010
PREFERENCE
When a group volume or
'ALL' is defined for the FTOC= parameter in GSPBATCH, the group volume is mistakenly processed. An effect of this processing is that the group volume index is deleted. This PTF excludes group volumes from force TOC processing in GSPBATCH.

Z760011
PREFERENCE
When print footer
REV=Y and page number locations TOP=Y in writer print, blocks of text with length of 8 characters are deleted from the text body displayed in showme and in print output. This PTF reinitializes location counter used to delete text area for revision date display.

Z760012
PHOENIX
PHOENIX authors/instructors attempting to modify student to same class get
GD077 error at $gscmd shift:-1-4. This fix automatically extends roster file to accommodate disk move needed to insert new name into file.

Z760013
PREFERENCE
This enhancement will display trace status of
'ON' at the Screen Rules Administration (SRA) table for volumes where trace status is on.

Z760014
PHOENIX/PREFERENCE
Users entering keyword 'resume' at the main author and writer menu are presented with the find (text search) menu rather than the last edited item. This PTF restores correct presentation for the 'resume' functionality.

Z760015
PREFERENCE
For reader/writer print, if an item has
TOC=Y and the TOC for that item is more than one page, items immediately following the item with TOC=Y may be skipped. Instead items from the file listed at the top of the last page of the TOC are printed. This PTF restores correct sequencing of printed items.

Z760016
PHOENIX
Instructors attempting to access a CMI course are not prompted for a password even though an instructor password has been defined. This PTF enables the password prompt to be displayed for CMI instructors.

Z760017
PHOENIX
Author administer course does not display classes allocated for classes created by the
GSPBROS utility. This PTF reads the correct file for display of allocated classes.

Z760020
PHOENIX
When authors enter the keyword
'text' in option mode of a form item, test mode is initiated for the item. This PTF restores the correct functionality of 'text'.

Z760022
PREFERENCE
Supervisors attempting to access the rules facility from the command line are thrown out of PREFERENCE, or encounter an excessive processing error. This PTF corrects a typographical error in prerequisite PTF
z760013 that caused this problem.

Z760023
PREFERENCE
Readers choosing the Tutorial option from the Hypertext PA2 menu may encounter a
GD006 INVALID BRANCH error message. This PTF corrects a typographical error in prerequisite PTF z760008 thatcaused this problem.

Z760027
PHOENIX
Unit B is not marked for import when author accesses the PHOENIX upload screen (F19 Transportability - upload) and chooses to mark with the 'F2 Everything' option. This PTF corrects the functionality of 'F2 Everything' within the author upload facility.

Z760028
PHOENIX
Users attempting to use the fix command for a student registered to the home course within a home/main setup get 'Instructor has not established a class plan' message, when a class plan has been established for the class to which the student is registered. This PTF allows use of the fix command for students registered to the home course of a home-main situation.

Z760029
PREFERENCE
PREFERENCE readers see text blanked out at row 23 column 53 when menu is off and F8 is pressed when there is no more text material. This PTF corrects a problem with scan processing that causes the deletion of text described above.

Z760030
PREFERENCE
PREFERENCE supervisors and rule writers are not presented with "reader's field" display in trace facility when rule match is on reader's field. This PTF corrects a faulty end-of-buffer definition upon presentation of "reader's field" display described above.

Z760033
PREFERENCE
Writers adding or modifying index terms via Write Index Terms do not receive a warning message when space problems prevent index terms from being saved. As a result, writers may lose productive time by entering unsaved index terms. This PTF displays 'UNABLE TO SAVE ALL INDICES. HAVE SUPERVISOR REASSEMBLE' at the item level under the conditions described above.

Z760044
PHOENIX
Administer Course "LAST ALTERATION TO COURSE MATERIAL" Date displays incorrect year when the last alteration was to edit positional feedback in a simulation item.

Z760045
PREFERENCE
This zap is to correct a problem found in PREFERENCE rule writing only.
When writers in option mode of a rule item attempt to insert a group by specifying the group number after which the insertion is to occur, the new group appears after the current group. For example, if the current group is 4 and a writer specifies 'i2' in the group field, the new group (which should be inserted after group 2) is inserted after group 4. This PTF corrects the execution of the group insertion command.
