PREFERENCE®
Writer Workshop (2 days)
Introduces the capabilities of on-line reference. Covers the basic
components of a reference volume: table of contents, index and
reference information. Provides hands-on experience in creating
an on-line reference volume. Explores the potential of hypertext
links to improve volume accessibility. Examples of effective on-line
documentation styles and standards are integrated into the class
materials.
PREFERENCE®
Concurrency Workshop (2 days)
Introduces the benefits of concurrent help in on-line application
systems. Discusses smart help and context sensitive help, such
as reader's field and cursor block help rules. Covers the guidelines
for writing appropriate decision rules. Using hands-on format,
students will develop complete help for a hypothetical on-line
transaction. This class may be presented as an onsite class. When
it is presented as an onsite course, the customer may choose to
add an optional third day for an additional charge. This customized
third day provides the participants with additional hands-on experience
in creating concurrent help rules and textual material, using
their own application screens.
PHOENIX®
EASE Author Workshop (3 days)
Introduces the components of the EASE Author system. Provides
hands-on experience in creating a Computer-Based Training (CBT)
course. Covers all aspects of the EASE system, including author,
instructor, and student modes.
PHOENIX®
EASE Advanced Workshop (2 days)
Reviews components of the EASE system. Introduces tips and short-cuts
for answer analysis. Includes hands-on experience in creating
stacked simulations and questions with advanced answer analysis.
Provides an opportunity for participants to obtain individual
assistance with their own CBT courses.
PREFERENCE®/PHOENIX®
Supervisor Workshop (1 day)
Concentrates on the role a supervisor plays in the day-to-day
maintenance of a PREFERENCE/PHOENIX system. Discusses various
on-line commands for system administration and provides exercises
to troubleshoot problems. Provides definitions and examples of
available reports and batch utility programs. This workshop is
applicable to PREFERENCE-only, PHOENIX-only and combined PREFERENCE/PHOENIX
systems customers.
